BEWARE!! I had been referred to LK's Auto by Discount Tire, to get the alignment done on my car and was told by Discount Tire that they had a special arrangement for a $59.95 alignment with LK's Auto and Discount Tire suggested I call and set the appointment for an alignment with LK's before installing new tires. I immediately called LK and explained to the girl who scheduled the appointment, what Discount Tire told me and she agreed, she went on to ask specific questions and agreed that the special price was $59.99. So, 3 days later I had the tires installed at Discount Tire and then went over to LK's Auto for my appointment. When done, they charged me $118.65! The service adviser Tim McClintock (the weasel) stated that they "no longer have the special deal" and further told me that it requires a coupon and refused to honor the original price quoted - of course not telling me this until AFTER they completed the work... Tim McClintock (the weasel), went on for over 5 minutes arguing with me.. and called Discount Tires... who explained from their side what happened. Tim the weasel refused and told me that Discount Tire is responsible... well, no... Tim refused to hear... that the girl who booked the appointment also confirmed the special. Discount Tire I must say stepped up and covered the difference because LK refused to do the right thing.... Discount Tire Bremerton- YES!! LK's Auto. NO GOOD. If you must use these crooks, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING BEFORE THEY START THE WORK or you too will be in for a big surprise!!

We can work this out without calling people names.

Negligent at best, perhaps dishonest. Pricey. I took my vehicle to LK’s on a Monday, with a faulty alternator. I requested both in writing, and verbally, to please check the alternator. On Tuesday morning, they informed me “the battery needs replacing.” Later Tuesday, they assured me everything else checked out OK, except for two belts, which I agreed to have replaced. I also agreed to an oil change. The total was in excess of $600 for the battery, belts, and oil change. The car experienced the exact same failure the following day. I took it elsewhere for a second opinion. The alternator test failed. The car has functioned quite well since replacement. I sincerely hope that this was just a fluke, an oversight, and not that LK’s makes it a habit of taking advantage of people, and putting them in danger on the road. Update: After posting my original review, Tim from LK's called me. After discussing the situation, he offered me a $53 refund, with a possible increase pending further review.

I was very happy we were able to work this out. Thank for helping us get better.

Update to this was that just a day or so after my review, the service manager, Tim (extremely nice guy and easy to talk to) contacted me said that he felt awful that they had missed any such things in their inspection, and offered to send a tow truck to grab the car and bring it back to their place at no charge to see what they can see. From that moment, he made it even - it's not like they caused the damage - and right now, while the diagnosis unfortunately stinks, he is looking for options and possible ways to rescue it at a decent price, or at least give me the best info before scrapping it. So in fact, they have now given more than needed in this deal. That's solid biz - and although I am a 30 minute drive from there, they will get my work in the future when I can make sense of the distance in using them. Can't speak to the quality of their repairs - and the shop was clean and the guys there were extremely nice - but a pre-purchase inspection, first time that I have been to LK, that I got there was an entire waste of money, and resulted in me making a decision to buy a used car from a nearby dealer that (literally) just a week later will probably either cost me thousands, or just have to be scrapped if it's not worth the full fix. Just a few miles after the inspection, buying the rig and leaving the lot, the check engine light came on; four days later the starter failed, and a day after that it began smoking enough to look like an old James Bond movie. Hey, I fully understand buyer-beware and take responsibility for my own decisions and risks, but a quick hundred bucks to do a full check at a highly-rated shop (that's why we chose them) that did not ID these three separate things that occurred almost immediately seems to point to a not-so-complete full check. Feels like salt in the wounds. They might do spectacular repair work, but now I can't even drive the 25 miles back there to find that out, if you get my drift. Read more
