Update to this was that just a day or so after my review, the service manager, Tim (extremely nice guy and easy to talk to) contacted me said that he felt awful that they had missed any such things in their inspection, and offered to send a tow truck to grab the car and bring it back to their place at no charge to see what they can see. From that moment, he made it even - it's not like they caused the damage - and right now, while the diagnosis unfortunately stinks, he is looking for options and possible ways to rescue it at a decent price, or at least give me the best info before scrapping it. So in fact, they have now given more than needed in this deal. That's solid biz - and although I am a 30 minute drive from there, they will get my work in the future when I can make sense of the distance in using them. Can't speak to the quality of their repairs - and the shop was clean and the guys there were extremely nice - but a pre-purchase inspection, first time that I have been to LK, that I got there was an entire waste of money, and resulted in me making a decision to buy a used car from a nearby dealer that (literally) just a week later will probably either cost me thousands, or just have to be scrapped if it's not worth the full fix. Just a few miles after the inspection, buying the rig and leaving the lot, the check engine light came on; four days later the starter failed, and a day after that it began smoking enough to look like an old James Bond movie. Hey, I fully understand buyer-beware and take responsibility for my own decisions and risks, but a quick hundred bucks to do a full check at a highly-rated shop (that's why we chose them) that did not ID these three separate things that occurred almost immediately seems to point to a not-so-complete full check. Feels like salt in the wounds. They might do spectacular repair work, but now I can't even drive the 25 miles back there to find that out, if you get my drift. Read more

Told us the problem with our vehicle was a few plugs needing to be changed. Turns out the problem was our transmission was going out. How does an auto repair shop miss something so big?

Our training process fell down. The checks and balances were not there. Thank you we are all learning.

We use LK auto repair for our work truck maintenance and repairs. The service is great! They always give us an inspection report with details on all the upcoming maintenance priorities. My car has never run better. For years we smelt gas fumes in the car. It had been to several repair shops for this problem. One trip to Keith's and Linda's and it was gone. They are so personal and treat you wonderfully.

Very thorough with my truck, and even saved me some money. I came in with a concern that could have cost me a lot of money, but they checked it all out and assured me it's in good shape. They are very courteous, and have provided very careful follow-up.

My first experience at LK'S was just great. Very professional staff and service techs. My car was serviced quickly and correctly. I will diffidently be bringing my car back as well as my wife's car for future maintenance and repair.

Lk's is simply the best. They care about their customers and their community. I brought my 2004 Ford Explorer into them after going to another local repair operation and always feeling like I was either being ripped off, or the work wasn't completed entirely. I came to LK's after being referred by a friend and was incredibly impressed with all the results. I will not be taking my vehicles anywhere else from now on!

The service was great, the financial transaction poor, until I pointed out the problem. The manager made a personal call to me to correct the financial error, and then promptly made good on his commitment to correct the error. Since fairness and customer satisfaction, together with accurate and timely service, is obviously the #1 goal of LK's Auto Repair, I'm now a customer with a changed attitude about at least one service and repair facility.
